Hi, I’m Laurence, the founder of Barksmith, and Smithy’s human. Like most dog owners, I love taking my best mate everywhere with me: beach runs, road trips, weekends away.

The problem? Smithy had the time of his life… and my car didn’t. Sand, fur, muddy paw prints! Every adventure left a mess behind. Barksmith started as my way of finding a better balance: giving dogs a comfortable, first-class travel experience without wrecking the car in the process.

Smithy is the inspiration behind every product we make. He’s our original tester, quality control manager, and loudest critic. If a product isn’t comfortable enough for him, durable enough for real adventures, and practical enough to keep life clean, it doesn’t make it into the Barksmith range. Simple as that.

From those early prototype days, Barksmith has grown into a small Australian brand focused on thoughtfully designed essentials that make travelling with your dog easier, cleaner, and more enjoyable.
